How to know if a container is DG

The freight containers specified for carriage are marked with IMDG placards on all sides. The different classes of dangerous goods have their distinct labels as given in the IMDG code.
Any dangerous goods carried on board is provided by the shipper with a special cargo manifest called the IMDG manifest. This would indicate the container number, number and kind of packages, proper shipping names, IMDG class, UN number, packing group, subsidiary risk, net or gross mass of dangerous goods, net explosives, whether the substance is a marine pollutant and also the ports involved.
All ships carrying IMDG containers keep an IMDG bay plan list along with the fire plan.It shows the position of all such containers.
