CSC plate on a container

Its made of stainless steel securely welded to the lower part of a container.It is required by the International convention for the safe carriage of containers.It assists in identifying the container in the event of markings on the container wall being unidentifiable due to damage or scraping.Apart from Container number, code, GT, NT, tare weight and Cubic capacity other details provided on the CSC plate are as follows:-
  • Name of owner
  • Name of manufacturer
  • Date of last survey
  • Racking stress 
  • Stack weight
  • Nature of timber treatment
  • Next examination date.
Another plate called the customs plate is fitted either as a part or separate from the CSC plate.
