WATER AND FOOD SUPPLIES ALMOST OVER ONBOARD MV ROYAL GRACE.
Delhi: Bad news from the hijacked UAE vessel Royal Grace pushes the dear ones of the captives yet again to depths of despair. This time the seamen onboard the vessel informed of a tough situation where the stores are fast depleting and the crew getting starved.17 Indians including Dibin Davis, Mithun, Stanley Vincent, Manesh Mohan and Arjun are among the victims.
Two of them said about not getting proper food and water since last week.Earlier they had told that the situation was satisfactory and there was nothing to worry about. The recent development plunges a hot rod into the insides of all the relatives and friends of the sailors. The Veassel was sold to a Nigerian citizen a few months ago, who is also reported to be onboard. The oil tanker was on her way from Sharjah to Nigeria when the event took place. The news got out only after weeks of the incident.
The pirates had reduced the ransom from 9 Million US $ to 2 Million. But the owner didn’t respond to their demand and that has caused the recent turmoil. The family members have requested the Government of India numerous times to take steps towards their release but the negotiation is nowhere ashore. The officials are not able to give any assurance to the depressed kins. The shipping world is anxiously waiting for a positive outcome for the efforts to set the crew free. All we can do is pray for our brothers and expect for a happy news to break out.
