NO NEWS YET OF INDIAN SAILOR MISSING FROM SYNERGY VESSEL

THREE MONTHS GONE BY, STILL NO SIGN OF ROSHAN
Kerala: After three months of expectation in vain, the family of missing merchant navy officer Roshan Mathew(23) loses all hope of their son returning safe. The Indian sailor has been missing from MV TS Japan owned by Synergy, (in South China Sea near Hong Kong) since October 31, 2011.The ship was en voyage from China to Thailand when the unfortunate incident occurred. Roshan, a native of Manarcadu in Kottayam district of Kerala had only joined the company 15 days back. The company informed his family that Roshan was on board on duty till 4 PM of October 31 and was expected to be back on duty by 8 PM but failed to do so thereby initiating a Search And Rescue operation. According to company sources Hongkong coastguard conducted SAR with the aid of aircrafts and other ships in the vicinity but it didn’t turn out to be fruitful.
The region is an abode of fishing vessels. If Roshan would have been saved by one such vessel it would only have taken two or three weeks for him to reach any port and contact the company or his family. Roshan’s father Mr.Cherian mathew cited an incident when his friend’s son was rescued by a fishing boat and got dropped in a remote village three weeks later. He added that he still hopes for such a miracle to happen in Roshan’s case too. The desperate family members gave complaints to the Union defense minister and minister of external affairs to inquire about the case. The representatives from the company visited Roshan’s parents to express their sorrow. As the days go by, the chances of finding Roshan safe are also becoming lean.Lets pray for our fellow brother and hope for some miracle to happen…
